BES Mission Statement

Snow Make-Up Days

Students will make up the 2 snow days on Thursday, June 4th and Friday, June 5th. Lunch will be available and dismissal will be at 11:30 a.m.

Super Summer Reader Club

Dave McDonald, Visiting Author & Illustrator

Belton Elementary hosted author/illustrator Dave McDonald on May 18, 2015! He taught us how to use simple shapes to draw cartoons and how the "30 second challenge" can lead to some great ideas for writing! STEAMy Summer Camps for ASD2 students!

Book Character Day
BES celebrated National Library Week a week early this year. We capped off the week with Book Character Day--the halls at BES were filled with characters from our favorite fiction and biography books. And yes: Elvis lives!

Literacy on the Road!
BES teachers and staff hit the road on their Professional Development Day to carry literacy into the community and connect with students of all ages and parents. They played games and gave away lots of books! 

Literacy Through the Decades Family Night
Our family literacy nights are always great fun with activities centered around reading and writing!

Spelling Bee
Caleb Eiland was the champion at our school-wide Spelling Bee on January, 2015! He will represent our school at the Anderson Independent Mail Regional Spelling Bee on March 7, 2015.
The 4th grade champion and runner-up speller was Trinity Valentine. Susanna McCollough, Bailey Garcia and Gavan Swilling were our 3rd grade champions.

Veterans Day
The Afterschool Students performed in a magnificent Veterans Day celebration. The celebration continued when veterans and District Office personnel dived into books with us on Dive Day.

Vocabulary Day
The halls of BES were filled with unusual vocabulary words on October 30, 2014. It was Vocabulary Day and students and teachers dressed up as a vocabulary word. There was a Vocabulary Parade at the end of the day. Click for more photos of Vocabulary Day

Red Ribbon Week: Shine Your Spotlight on a Drug-free Life!

Walk to School Day
Over 300 students, teachers, and district office personel walked to school from the Ingles parking lot on International Walk to School Day. They ended up in front of the school and did their house cheers.

BES Students Rock the PASS!

These students were recognized on the first day of school for their exceptional performance on the Spring PASS test!

A House Celebration!

The first day of school was especially exciting! The whole school gathered to celebrate and to learn more about the new house system. The houses are:
  • Fidelis - Representing Trustworthiness (Blue)
  • Decoro - Representing Honor (Purple)
  • Estima - Representing Respect (Black)
  • Probite - Representing Integrity (Orange)
  • Bravura - Representing Valor (Red)
  • Entusiasmo - Representing Enthusiasm (Green)

You can help BES by clipping Box Tops from hundreds of participating products and sending them to school.  Each coupon is worth 10 cents when our school redeems them from Box Tops for Education. The money that we raise helps to fund many of the special reading programs we have throughout the year.

I look forward to working with students, teachers, and families to make the most of every learning opportunity and to help our students have a great school year.
