Dave McDonald, Visiting Author & Illustrator

Belton Elementary hosted author/illustrator Dave McDonald on May 18, 2015! He taught us how to use simple shapes to draw cartoons and how the "30 second challenge" can lead to some great ideas for writing! He also autographed books during his visit. You can learn more about Mr. Dave by visiting his website: http://www.davemcdonald.com.

Book Character Day
BES celebrated National Library Week a week early this year. We capped off the week with Book Character Day--the halls at BES were filled with characters from our favorite fiction and biography books. And yes: Elvis lives!

Literacy on the Road!
BES teachers and staff hit the road on their Professional Development Day to carry literacy into the community and connect with students of all ages and parents. They played games and gave away lots of books!

Literacy Through the Decades Family Night
Our family literacy nights are always great fun with activities centered around reading and writing!

  • Entusiasmo - Representing Enthusiasm (Green)

You can help BES by clipping Box Tops from hundreds of participating products and sending them to school.  Each coupon is worth 10 cents when our school redeems them from Box Tops for Education. The money that we raise helps to fund many of the special reading programs we have throughout the year.
You'll find a list of foods and products at http://www.boxtops4education.com/products/participating-products
