Principal's Message

Welcome to Belton Elementary where we believe in partnering with the home and the community to provide an innovative educational environment that encourages all of our students to Believe in themselves, Excel in performance, and to Succeed in life.

At BES, we love reading. We believe it is the cornerstone of all learning. This year, we have issued a challenge to our students, The One Million Minute Reading Challenge. This is an effort to encourage our students to read whenever and wherever they can and to see that when you dream big and work together as a team, you can reach your goals. Click here to view a video with more details.

One of our school goals this year to to increase communication between the school and the home. We have implemented Class Dojo school wide in an effort the help parents be more connected to their child’s classroom. We hope the you are enjoying it as much as we are. We also use the Remind App (directions to join below), Facebook, and Twitter to get information out. Parent Portal is another great tool to help parents stay informed of their child’s progress. If you are not connected to Parent Portal, please contact the office for assistance.  I also send a Weekly Update email each week. Click here to view the Weekly Update. If you are not receiving the email, please contact the office so we can update our email list.

Thanks, Tracy Hedrick Principal

This is a wonderful opportunity to come together with other parents to learn about hot topics for the day. Belton sessions begin in our cafeteria and then move to our library. Hope to see you each third Tuesday of the month. Copyright Logo We are challenging our students to read one million minutes this school year. We are encouraging them to read what they enjoy and log their minutes each morning at school!

Your child’s ability to read is a critical predictor of educational and lifelong success. Help establish a strong literacy foundation for your child and support Carolina & Clemson’s championship traditions by participating in the South Carolina Department of Education’s 2018 Read Your Way to the Big Game contest.

All pre-kindergarten through eighth-grade students who read six books will qualify to win tickets to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game on November 24. Once students have completed their readings, they should turn in the list of books read to their teacher. Winners will receive four tickets and pre-game sideline passes to the Clemson vs. South Carolina game.
