Mr. James Lies

“Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.” –Benjamin Franklin.

Greetings! I am Mr. Lies and I am one of the teachers at Belton Elementary. I currently teach fifth grade math to three classes, along with one problem based learning class. Though I have been teaching for four years, this is my first at Belton Elementary. I am thrilled to be here, as each day proves to be rewarding in many ways.

I am a graduate of Anderson University in Anderson, South Carolina. I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I am also a member of the Call Me Mister Program based out of Clemson University. I am in the middle of a master’s program at Furman University. Go Paladins! Before migrating to the upstate, I spent my life in Sumter, South Carolina where I played sports, stayed involved in the local orchestra, and gave back to the community through service projects.
