Anderson School District Two will operate on a regular schedule tomorrow, February 4.

Huge shout-out to the amazing Mrs. Freeman, our school counselor! Whether she’s offering a listening ear or a word of encouragement, she has a way of making every student feel seen and valued.
Beyond her daily support and weekly counselor lessons, she also leads our incredible Mentor Program, connecting our students with role models who help them thrive. We are so lucky to have her heart and leadership in our halls! #NSCW26
Happy National School Counselor Week!

Anderson Two Families,
Anderson School District Two will operate on a 2-hour delay Thursday, January 29 due to icy conditions on secondary roads.
Safety is our top priority and this later start time will allow students, parents, and staff to travel during daylight hours with better visibility.
As a reminder, buses will operate 2 hours later than normal. Buses will not travel on roads that remain icy. Our Transportation Department will notify those on all affected routes.
As we get ready to return to school, we want to thank you for your continued flexibility and understanding this week.

Anderson Two Families,
Due to the road conditions following the winter storm, Anderson School District Two will have an eLearning day on Wednesday, January 28.
As of Tuesday afternoon, many of our primary roads are clear, however, several of our secondary roads remain unsafe for travel due to ice. Based on the latest forecast, below freezing temperatures are expected overnight which could cause refreezing and black ice.
eLearning reminders:
Teachers will continue to provide details regarding all eLearning assignments for Wednesday.
Students have 5 days to complete assignments.
The district continues to work closely with emergency management officials as we monitor the road conditions and forecast for our area.
As always, student and staff safety is our top priority. We will provide updates regarding school operations for Thursday as soon as possible.

This week we had a school-wide Drop Everything And Read Day! Our entire school at the same time enjoyed teacher read alouds and independent reading time! 📚
Here is some information about reading in elementary schools…
📕Independent reading is linked to increased vocabulary acquisition (30–40% boost) and stronger comprehension abilities.
📗Elementary students engaging in independent reading are 40% more likely to meet grade-level literacy standards compared with peers who do not participate regularly.
📘Hearing complex language during read-alouds exposes students to richer vocabulary than many encounter in everyday speech, helping build language skills critical for reading success.
📙 Read-alouds support comprehension and critical thinking by immersing students in rich text, modeling fluent reading, and providing opportunities for discussion — all of which foster deeper understanding of narrative and informational content.

The Music Ideals choir did an awesome job tonight at their Winter performance! Thank you to Mrs. Mitchell for her leadership with our choir! 🎄🎶
